The traceability of food is becoming a popular trend and a criterion that many customers look for when choosing where to dine. The concept of farm to fork relates to the traceability of edible products as they move throughout the food supply chain; (datexcorp.com 2018). Traceability schemes aim to assure food safety, animal welfare, hygiene and environmental protection through every part of the food chain (www.redtractor.org.uk 2017). We are proud to say; ALL meat used to create the delicious dishes on our menus at Prego is traceable ‘Farm to Fork’. Each of our suppliers can provide us with information to ‘trace’ each product. Some suppliers use the Red Tractor scheme and others have their own record systems. Knowing where our produce comes from is very important to us, it allows us to ensure we are providing a high-quality dishes across . In October 2017, Prego Restaurant was voted the ‘Number one restaurant in Calderdale to bring your kids’ (Survey completed by The Soil Association).
